The perfect balance of creative and well-organised, Alex brings a unique approach to every project she works on. Graduating from the University of Sydney with an Arts degree, she took a jump into consulting with a job at PwC Australia in Canberra. Whilst working for PwC, Alex brought her fresh perspective to the Technology and Projects team, working on large projects for federal government, Department of Defence, Veterans’ Affairs and Services Australia (the Human Services), and later as a Solutions Design Lead working on strategic policy at the ACT Government.
Throughout this work, from projects improving the myGov app, to investigating the feasibility of the government going “cashless” in service centres, Alex honed her skills in translating complex concepts into consumable content that informs and supports communities. Her ability to establish rapport and tailor communications to an audience, has ensured a pattern of success in the campaigns she has run for both public and private sector organisations.
Place on the team
Finding balance of another kind, Alex qualified as a yoga instructor during a work sabbatical, which has served as a great complement to her consultancy work and ultimately led her to The Project Lab through the tight knit Hobart community. She now enjoys spending her week serving Tasmanians as both a management consultant and a yoga teacher.
For our clients, her focus and energy in developing holistic solutions that deliver results with the greatest benefits to all are what makes Alex invaluable on any project. A champion of tools and processes that will improve outcomes, Alex is careful to align progress in one area with organisational strategy, adopting technology that is accessible and helpful to the biggest audience.
Make it Matter
Alex is driven by a genuine desire to leave a person, a team or an organisation in a better place than when she began working with them. This is clear through the many parallels drawn between her yoga practice and her consultancy work, such as her appreciation of how small changes in a single area can have the biggest impact on the whole system.
Returning to her roots and moving back to Tasmania, Alex finds joy in the beauty and rhythm of island life, living close to the beach where she walks her border collie rain, hail or shine. It is her appreciation of beauty and excellence that motivates Alex to work with people, and together bring the best products and services to Tasmanians.
